Monica Anderson

Help the Board of Directors of HAVEN of the Dan River Region in our support of Monica Anderson the Volunteer of the Year! We are proud to nominate Monica for this recognition. Monica was asked by a board member to serve on our fund-raising/marketing committee. She agreed and hit the ground running!

Thanks to her, our Heels to Heal Challenge was created (the event that put men on the red carpet in heels). The event quickly became the talk of the town: "Men in high heels? I will come to see that?" "They will walk in heels?" etc. Monica's husband Greg even joined in to support and he was the first to do an on-line video challenge to other men while wearing high heels. We were very excited to have a new event for our organization (HAVEN is the emergency shelter for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault). Monica worked with other board members and helped to organize a week of events, she attended every event, made in kind contributions and devoted over twenty-six hours to volunteering with us.

Monica is enthusiastic and a valuable asset to our organization and to our community. She serves on several boards and was very active in the PTA at Schoolfield Elementary School. She works on some of her own special projects to help students and helps other community members with their projects.

Volunteers are crucial to the success of non-profits and in the success of our community. PLEASE cast your vote for MONICA ANDERSON!
