The Dan River Nonprofit Network operates as a central coordinator to build connections, increase capacity, and foster partnerships to move towards a greater collective positive community impact in the Dan River Region. We identify trends of concern to local nonprofits, share proven practices, as well as support implementation of those techniques that in turn benefit our nonprofits and the clients they serve. The Network provides opportunities for professional networking, increased funding prospects, collaborative resources, and provides a home for regional nonprofits to converse and learn from each other in order to raise the region’s profile.
“Through the resources they have helped bring to our community, local Out of the Darkness supporters have been able to attend trainings at no charge, learn more about grant writing and the tools and resources available locally and helped our organization broaden our areas of possible funding sources. Without the contribution of The Dan River Nonprofit Network, our organization would not have had these opportunities made available to them, which would have limited our benefit to the community.” – Leanne Hardy, Former Chair of Danville-Pittsylvania County Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention
“The Dan River Nonprofit Network can assist nonprofit agencies by promoting a culture of collaboration through its programs and intentional efforts to expand partnership opportunities between nonprofits. These collaborations will yield improvements to programs, an increase in leveraged resources, and better outcomes for the region’s citizens.” – Julie J. Brown, Ph.D., Director of Advanced Learning at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research
