Ava Wood

Ava Wood has given over a thousand volunteer hours to Camp Selah in the last seven years. She leads our teen volunteers n setting up our overnight dorms, making sure each child feels welcomed and safe from the moment they arrive at camp.  She is our Dorm Diva!

Each morning, she guides her campers through their day, walking with them over ten thousand steps from breakfast, through art, storymaking, the pool and eventually the evening campfires. and up to bed.  With her uke, she teaches them silly songs and gives them the confidence to create their own.   Ava is well on her way tto being a lifetime teacher.  This year she graduates DCC and heads to JMU for her junior year.  Her willing to learn and serve makes her a lifetime asset to this community and a life changer for young children.  Camp Selah is proud to nominate her for Danville's Volunteer of the Year!
