Sheryll Jeffries truly does everything “from the heart”. She is compassionate, giving, thoughtful, dedicated, talented, dependable and creative. She uses all of these qualities to help others in our community. Sheryll works full time as a 2nd grade teacher at Gibson Elementary School but she has been an integral part of the grassroots organization, Parents of the Schools, over the last two years. Despite not having children in our public school system, Sheryll has been on the front lines volunteering with various projects including beautifying school grounds at GLH Johnson Elementary and Woodrow Wilson Intermediate School on her “days off”. Sheryll is never really off work as she is constantly working in various capacities to give back to her community. Sheryll also dedicates time volunteering at her church, Shiloh Baptist and with the organizations, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and Pinky Promise-Danville. We are grateful to have her on our team at Parents of the Schools and thankful for everything she does for our community. I proudly nominate her as Volunteer of the Year.
