As volunteers go, there is no one who inspires me more than my good friend and co-worker Rhonda! She serves her community as an AmeriCorps member performing service at the Boys and Girls Club in Chatham while also coaching a youth basketball league, organizing dozens of community events to feed families each year, assisting at God's Storehouse with the Malcomn Huckabee Packpack Program, and much more. Last year, she was able to recruit and engage over 100 volunteers to assist with local causes that help a variety of issues our community faces. She is a smart, energetic, and passionate person that shines her light on anyone she meets. To say she is a volunteer is an understatement. She is a powerhouse advocate for local community issues and fights to help struggling youth as a mentor, tutor, and friend but also jumps at any problem head-on to help in any way she can. She has been an inspiration to me over the last two years I have known her, but we will be lifelong friends.
