DESCRIPTION:Are you a nonprofit or social impact leader looking for peer support and problem-solving? We want to help. \nThe Nonprofit Network is partnering with River District Consulting to host a regular virtual forum called the Good Gab\, a facilitated discussion space to support and learn from one other while getting connected with helpful tools & resources. You’ve heard the phrase “No Shirts\, No Shoes\, No Problems”…well our motto is “T-Shirts\, No Shoes\, Solving Problems.” \nThe first forum\, scheduled for April 24th from 3:30–4:30PM\, will be an exploratory session to better understand and scope the interests of participants related to a weekly forum. We will then shape the approach to best match your needs week-by-week. It is our hope that these facilitated discussions will allow you to support one another in your leadership roles during this disorienting and critical time for our agencies and our communities. \nEach week participants will have the opportunity to sign-up. You don’t have to have attended prior weeks to participate. We welcome you whenever you are able to join us. SUMMARY:Investment Connection - Community Reinvestment Act
DESCRIPTION:The Nonprofit Network is hosting the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on an April 23rd webinar and invites you to learn more about the Community Reinvestment Act for nonprofits and the Richmond Fed’s Investment Connection program. This program will create a platform for regional funders to hear from organizations seeking funding to support low- and moderate-income individuals and distressed and underserved communities. Investment Connection will solicit funding proposals from community and economic development organizations in Southside Virginia\, as well as Central and Hampton Roads regions\, between March 30th to May 1st. In June\, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will bring together funders to hear pitches from the top grantee proposals and potentially connect these projects with funding. \nOrganizations with projects deemed eligible under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) may submit community and economic development projects through a Request for Proposal process. Organizations may submit multiple projects for consideration\, but only one project per CRA specified category. \nTypical issues addressed include\, but are not limited to: \nAsset building/financial education\nCommunity facilities\nSmall business development/micro lending\nHealthy neighborhoods/affordable housing\nWorkforce development \nWe encourage nonprofits to join us to hear opportunities to bring more support to our region. We estimate the session will last for about 30-45 minutes.
