SUMMARY:Reinvent Impact
DESCRIPTION:Building strong organizations through collaboration and strategic partnerships. \nNonprofit organizations face unprecedented challenges and opportunities as they look to the future. The Reinvent Impact workshops are the first phase in a unique capacity building program dedicated to raising awareness\, enhancing skills and fostering relationships that will help the Dan River Region’s nonprofit sector build partnerships that accelerate impact and support sustainability. \nThe workshops\, presented by Scott Cotenoff and Onuka Ibe of La Piana Consulting\, a national leader in strategic restructuring\, will discuss the wide range of partnership options available and the skills that lead nonprofits to succeed in collaboration. A panel of local organizations will also share their experience participating in a formal collaboration or strategic restructuring. The event will wrap up with a Q&A session and instructions about how to participate in the next phase of the program. \nThree dates and times are available throughout the next three months and each will cover the same content: 7/21\, 8/19\, and 10/17 – all held virtually from 3pm to 5pm. We encourage participation from all levels of an organization. If your organization is structured with a board and staff\, we highly encourage board AND staff members to attend. \nRegister\nReinvent Impact is a partnership between the Nonprofit Network\, Healthy Places by Design and the Danville Regional Foundation. \n— \nReinvent Impact is organized in three phases. \nPhase 1 will include three opportunities (July\, August & October) to attend the virtual workshop\, which will provide a general introduction to strategic restructuring and the possibilities for collaboration\, joint ventures\, back office consolidations\, mergers and other partnerships to strengthen your work. Attendance at one of the workshops is required to move on to Phase 2. \nPhase 2 will include an application process\, which will open after the first workshop is complete on July 21st. Each participant in phase 2 will complete an assessment process where\, working with a La Piana consultant\, they examine the needs\, desires\, concerns\, and opportunities that might lead them to pursue a collaboration or strategic partnership process with one or more organizations. At the end of Phase 2\, participating organizations will have a clear sense of their readiness for collaboration or strategic restructuring and will know whether they want to proceed with further exploration. \nPhase 3 will provide technical assistance and possible funding to a limited number of groups to explore\, negotiate and formalize the partnership\, as well as how to make the partnership successful – accelerating impact\, testing innovative strategies and strengthening organizational culture within your new collaboration.

SUMMARY:Virginia Nonprofit Virtual Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:The Nonprofit Network and other nonprofit capacity builder partners across the state have joined together to host a Virginia Nonprofit Virtual Town Hall with U.S. Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner to address top issues for nonprofits during COVID-19. This follows our collective Letter to the Virginia Congressional Delegation last month for which we garnered over 100 endorsements statewide. The Senators will give their perspective on what’s working\, what’s not\, and what’s still needed to support nonprofits and their government partners to be as responsive as possible to the communities they serve. We’ve gathered a list of the most pressing and relevant questions across our nonprofit networks that we’ll then present to the Senators\, and you’ll also have the opportunity to submit a question when registering. \nVirginia nonprofits\, funders\, and community partners are welcomed and encouraged to join in this statewide advocacy effort! Registration is required and space is limited to 500 participants. A recording of the Virtual Town Hall will be made available for later viewing. \nWhat: Virginia Nonprofit Virtual Town Hall with Senators Warner & Kaine\nWhen: Monday\, June 22nd 1:30-2:30pm \n\nLink: Register\n

SUMMARY:Good Gab - Funding During Disruption
DESCRIPTION:Are you a nonprofit or social impact leader looking for peer support and problem-solving? We want to help. The Nonprofit Network is partnering with River District Consulting to host a regular virtual forum called the Good Gab\, a facilitated discussion space to support and learn from one other while getting connected with helpful tools & resources. \nThe third forum\, scheduled for May 22nd from 3:30–4:30PM\, will be focused generally on the challenges of funding our mission work during times of disruption. Discussions will circle around maintaining engagement with stakeholders\, adapting our fundraising plans or models (in response to changing funding landscape\, cancelled or postponed events\, new costs\, etc.)\, as well as the tools and platforms we can use to help elevate and innovate our virtual fundraising. Bring your ideas and share for group brainstorming and feedback! RSVP here: https://link.danrivernonprofits.org/goodgab \nOur bi-weekly topics for Good Gab are selected by participants in order to best match the need. It is our hope that these facilitated discussions will allow you to support one another in your leadership roles during this disorienting and critical time for our agencies and our communities. \nEach week participants will have the opportunity to sign-up. You don’t have to have attended prior weeks to participate. We welcome you whenever you are able to join us. We will cap each session’s participants to ensure a meaningful experience for those who are able to attend. Registered participants will receive a link via email to join the conversation prior to the beginning of the meeting. Fill out this short RSVP form to join us!: \nRegister

SUMMARY:Investment Connection - Community Reinvestment Act
DESCRIPTION:The Nonprofit Network is hosting the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on an April 23rd webinar and invites you to learn more about the Community Reinvestment Act for nonprofits and the Richmond Fed’s Investment Connection program. This program will create a platform for regional funders to hear from organizations seeking funding to support low- and moderate-income individuals and distressed and underserved communities. Investment Connection will solicit funding proposals from community and economic development organizations in Southside Virginia\, as well as Central and Hampton Roads regions\, between March 30th to May 1st. In June\, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will bring together funders to hear pitches from the top grantee proposals and potentially connect these projects with funding. \nOrganizations with projects deemed eligible under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) may submit community and economic development projects through a Request for Proposal process. Organizations may submit multiple projects for consideration\, but only one project per CRA specified category. \nTypical issues addressed include\, but are not limited to: \nAsset building/financial education\nCommunity facilities\nSmall business development/micro lending\nHealthy neighborhoods/affordable housing\nWorkforce development \nWe encourage nonprofits to join us to hear opportunities to bring more support to our region. We estimate the session will last for about 30-45 minutes. For more information on the program contact: Rich.InvestmentConnection@rich.frb.org \nThis event is free\, but does require registration: \nRegister
