SUMMARY:Nonprofit Network Expansion Launch
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, June 12th for a launch to introduce nonprofit sector resources through the Dan River Nonprofit Network!\n\n\nJoin us on Thursday\, June 12th 2025 in Martinsville at the MHC Heritage Center for an exciting evening of networking and collaboration co-hosted by the Nonprofit Network and the Harvest Foundation. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the program starts at 6 PM. Registration is encouraged\, but walk-ins are welcome! \nThis event is a great opportunity to connect with other nonprofit organizations\, share ideas\, and expand your network. Staff of the Nonprofit Network will present on upcoming programming and resources offered to nonprofits in the Martinsville and Henry County community. Come meet like-minded individuals and learn how to expand your impact. We’ll see you there! \n\n\nHISTORY\nThe Dan River Nonprofit Network strengthens and unites nonprofits across the Dan River region by building the capacity of the social sector to meet the needs of their communities. Since 2013\, the Nonprofit Network has operated in Danville\, Pittsylvania County\, and Caswell County as a central coordinator to build connections\, increase capacity\, and foster partnerships in the nonprofit sector. In 2025 we have also expanded to serve Henry County and the city of Martinsville. \n\n\nOUR WORK\nWe believe in collective power\, and actively promote strategic alliances to help nonprofits partner for more impact and to advance change and positive impact across systems in our communities. We work with executive leaders\, board members\, coalition leaders\, and other key stakeholders to support new collaborations and to enhance existing ones. We offer trainings\, host a regional volunteer portal\, facilitate cost saving programs\, and provide consulting support and resources to empower nonprofits and community partners in creating social change.

Through group activities and practical interactive scenarios\, we will cover the how-to’s of “making the ask” – from scheduling the appointment to asking the right questions\, from responding to objections to following up after the solicitation. \nWe’ll cover: \n\nFundraising principles\nThe fundraising cycle\nRelationship building\nPreparing for the ask\nMaking the ask\nAfter the ask\nDonor stewardship\n…and more!\n\nFood will be provided to attendees; please let us know if you have dietary restrictions. \nThe Nonprofit Network will be offering this workshop in all three of our service areas (Caswell County\, Danville\, and Pittsylvania County)\, so if you can’t make one of these times work for you\, consider signing up for a different one. \nThis event is FREE for Nonprofit Network members. The suggested amount is $15/ticket for non-members. See our Member Directory here for a full list of our member organizations and individuals.
